Catalog Mode for WooCommerce
Show products without selling them: hide add-to-cart buttons and prices, show an enquiry button, for the whole store, some products or guests only.
- Block cart and checkout
- Classic cart and checkout
- High-performance order storage
- WooCommerce 9 – 11
- WordPress 6.6 – 7.1
- PHP 7.4+
Catalog Mode
- Hide buying for the whole store, categories or chosen products
- Everyone, guests only, or chosen roles
- Hide prices or replace them with text; an enquiry button with your link
- Cart and checkout redirect; optional schedule
What Catalog Mode does
Some stores show, others sell, and many do both at different times. Catalog Mode turns off buying while the shop stays up: no add-to-cart buttons, optionally no prices, and in their place a message and a button of yours, such as "Ask for a quote", "Call us" or a link to your contact page.
Catalog Mode features
What it changes
- Add-to-cart buttons disappear from shop grids and product pages, on block themes and classic themes
- Prices can be hidden, or replaced with text such as "Call for price", including in variation dropdowns and structured data
- Your message appears where the add-to-cart form was, with a button that links to a page, a mailto: or a tel: link; placeholders carry the product name, id, SKU or URL into the link
- When every product is in catalog mode, the cart and checkout pages redirect to the shop or a page you choose, and the mini cart is hidden; paying for an existing order still works
- Nothing can be added to the cart by any route: forms, AJAX buttons, the Store API or other plugins
Where and for whom
- The whole store, products in chosen categories, or chosen products, with products you want to keep selling
- Any product can be set to "always" or "never" in catalog mode on its own edit screen, under Advanced
- Everyone, guests only (so logged-in customers can buy, like a B2B store), or chosen roles
- An optional schedule: switch on from a date and time, until a date and time, in store time
- Staff always see the normal shop in the admin, and a reminder on WooCommerce screens says catalog mode is on

Questions about Catalog Mode
Can logged-in customers still buy?
Yes: choose "Guests only" under "Who sees it". Visitors see the catalogue and a prompt of your choice; customers who log in see the normal shop. Choose "These roles" to target particular roles, including guests.
Can I keep selling a few products?
Yes. Add them under "Never these products", or set "Never in catalog mode" on the product's Advanced tab. Catalog mode then applies to the rest, and the cart stays available.
What happens to carts when I switch it on?
Items that can no longer be bought are removed from the cart with a notice the next time the customer visits the cart or checkout.
Does hiding prices hide them everywhere?
On the shop, in product pages, variation dropdowns, related products and structured data. Staff still see prices in the admin.
What happens to my data if I delete the plugin?
Nothing is removed unless "Remove data on uninstall" is ticked. Products are never changed.
