Plugin Wizards

Terms of service

The terms, in plain English

What you get when you buy a licence, what the GPL already gives you, and the few things we ask in return. Short enough to read before you buy.

1.What these terms cover

These terms are the agreement between you and App Wizards, the India company that runs Plugin Wizards at pluginwizards.com, for your use of the site and of the plugins sold on it. By buying a licence or using the site you accept them. If you are buying for a company, you confirm you may accept them on its behalf.

The privacy policy and the refund policy are part of these terms.

2.The plugins are GPL software

Every plugin is licensed under the GNU General Public License, version 2 or later, like WordPress itself. That licence gives you the right to run the code on as many sites as you like, read it, change it and pass it on, and nothing in these terms takes that right away.

The GPL covers the code. It does not cover the things a licence key adds, and it does not cover our name: see the next two sections.

3.What a licence key adds

A licence key buys, for the term and the number of sites on the plan you chose:

  • Updates, delivered to the WordPress dashboard of each activated site, including new features, compatibility fixes for new WooCommerce releases and security fixes
  • Support by email as described on the support page
  • Activation on the number of production sites in the plan; local development copies and staging copies of a licensed site do not count against it

You may move an activation from one site to another at any time from your account. A key belongs to the person or company that bought it and is not to be shared, published or resold. A key that is being used on more sites than its plan allows, or that was obtained without payment, may be deactivated.

When a licence term ends without renewal the plugin keeps working; what stops is updates and support. Running an outdated plugin is at your own risk, as security fixes will not reach you.

4.Our name and branding

"Plugin Wizards", "App Wizards", the star mark and the plugin names are ours. The GPL lets you redistribute the code, but a copy you redistribute, with or without changes, must not use our names or branding in a way that suggests we made or support it, and must not pretend to be an official release. WooCommerce and WordPress are trademarks of their owners; we are not affiliated with Automattic or the WordPress Foundation.

5.Buying, prices and renewals

Prices are shown on each plugin page in US dollars and do not include VAT, GST or sales tax, which is added at checkout where we are required to collect it. Payment is taken by our payment provider at the time of purchase; the licence key and the download are available immediately afterwards.

Licences renew automatically at the end of each term at the then-current price for your plan, so that updates and support continue. You are emailed before a renewal is charged, and you can turn renewal off at any time from your account, in which case the licence simply runs to the end of its term. Refunds are governed by the refund policy.

We may change prices for new purchases and renewals. A change never affects a term you have already paid for.

6.Your account

Your account holds your licences, downloads and invoices. Keep its login details to yourself and tell us straight away if you think someone else has them. You are responsible for what is done under your account until you do.

The site is for buying and managing plugin licences. Do not use it to probe for vulnerabilities, scrape it, or interfere with it; if you find a security problem, tell us through the contact page and we will thank you.

7.Compatibility and changes to the plugins

Each plugin page states the minimum WordPress, WooCommerce and PHP versions. We test every release on the WooCommerce version that is current at the time and keep the plugins working with the block and classic checkout. We may raise a plugin's minimum versions in a new release, and we may add, change or remove features; the changelog on the plugin page records what changed.

If we ever stop selling a plugin, existing licences receive updates and support for the rest of their term, and the GPL code stays yours after that.

8.Warranty

We warrant that, during your licence term, each plugin does what its page on this site says it does, when installed on a WooCommerce site that meets the stated minimums. If it does not, tell us and we will fix it in a release or, failing that, refund the licence.

Beyond that, and to the extent the law allows, the plugins and the site are provided as they are, without other warranties, express or implied, including that they will suit a particular purpose, work with every other plugin or theme, or run without interruption or error. This is the same warranty position the GPL itself takes.

9.Limit of liability

To the extent the law allows, App Wizards's total liability to you for anything arising from these terms, the site or a plugin is limited to the amount you paid us for that plugin in the twelve months before the claim. We are not liable for lost sales, lost profits, lost data or other indirect loss, and you remain responsible for keeping backups of your store.

Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law, including for fraud, or reduces the rights consumer law gives you where you live.

10.Governing law

These terms are governed by the law of India, and disputes are heard by the courts of India, except that if you are a consumer you keep the protection of the mandatory law of the country you live in and may bring a claim there. Before either of us goes to court we agree to try to settle the matter by email first.

11.Changes to these terms

We may update these terms as the plugins and the law change. The current version is always at this address with the date shown at the top; a change that reduces what a licence gives you is emailed to licence holders at least 30 days before it applies to them. Questions about these terms go to support@pluginwizards.com.
