What Tiered Pricing does
Reward customers who buy more with bulk discounts, volume pricing and quantity discounts. Set price breaks such as "10% off from 10 items, 20% off from 50" on one product, on a variation, or store-wide for categories, chosen products or everything. Customers see a pricing table on the product page, the cart shows what they saved and how many more they need for the next break, and orders record the discount.
Tiered Pricing features
Price breaks your way
- Three kinds of tier: a percentage off, an amount off each item, or a fixed price each
- Tiers on a single product, on each variation, or in store-wide rules
- Store-wide rules for all products, chosen categories (sub-categories included) or chosen products, with exclusions
- Count quantities per cart line, per product (all variations together) or across every product in a rule, so customers can mix and match
- Rules for chosen customer roles, including guests: wholesale and member prices
- Schedule rules with start and end dates
- Rules apply in the order you set; product tiers always win over rules
- A larger quantity never costs more per item, even when tiers are set up unevenly
- Choose how sale prices work: tier on the sale price, tier on the regular price and keep the lower, or no tiers while on sale
What customers see
- Pricing table on the product page above or below the add to cart button, below the price, or in its own tab, plus a shortcode
- The table highlights the current tier and shows the total and the saving as the quantity changes
- Variable products switch tables as options are chosen
- "As low as" prices in shop and category grids
- Cart and checkout show the old price struck through, the tier discount and "Add 3 more for 20% off"
- Works with the block cart and checkout and the classic shortcode pages
For the store
- Orders and emails show the tier discount on each line
- Option to keep coupons off items that already have a tier price
- Pause all tiers with one switch
- Works with High-Performance Order Storage and with Cart and Checkout blocks
A worked example: three price breaks on one product
Bulk pricing, volume discounts, quantity discounts and tiered pricing are four names for the same thing: the price per item falls as the quantity rises. Say a tote bag is $20 and you want trade-sized orders to pay less. Three tiers on the product do it:
| Quantity | Tier | Price each | 12 bags cost | 50 bags cost |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 1 – 9 | Regular price | $20.00 | ||
| 10 – 49 | 10% off | $18.00 | $216.00, saving $24.00 | |
| 50 or more | Fixed price $16 | $16.00 | $800.00, saving $200.00 |
The product page shows the table with the current tier highlighted and the total updating as the quantity changes, the shop grid shows "As low as $16.00", and the cart line shows the regular price struck through with "Add 38 more for 20% off". The same tiers can be a store-wide rule instead, applied to a category with mix and match, so 5 red and 5 blue totes count as 10.
How it compares with other bulk discount plugins
Most quantity discount plugins do the arithmetic. The differences are in the edge cases that reach your support inbox. Tiered Pricing guarantees that a larger quantity never costs more per item, even when tiers are set up unevenly, and it never touches the prices stored on your products: tier prices are applied in the cart, so product feeds, reports and other plugins keep seeing your normal prices.
Role rules are built in, so wholesale customers can have their own tiers, and the plugin stacks with Wholesale and Role-Based Pricing when you want a role price and a quantity discount at once. Rules can be scheduled, paused with one switch, and told how to behave on sale items and with coupons. Everything is calculated on the server, on the block cart and checkout and the classic pages alike, so a customer cannot see one price and pay another.

Questions about Tiered Pricing
Which tiers win when several apply?
Tiers on a variation win, then tiers on the product, then the first enabled store-wide rule in the list that matches the product and customer.
How do quantities count?
Each rule and product chooses: each cart line on its own, all options of a product together, or every product in the rule together. With "together", 5 red and 5 blue T-shirts count as 10.
Can I show the pricing table somewhere else?
Use [tpqd_pricing_table] on a product page or [tpqd_pricing_table id="123"] anywhere. On its own product page the table follows the options and quantity the customer picks. On other pages a variable product shows a labelled table for each option, and options with the same prices share one table.
Does it work with variable products?
Yes. Tiers can be set on each variation or on the parent product for all variations, and the pricing table switches as the customer picks options. Quantities can count per variation or across all variations of the product together.
Do coupons still work?
Yes, coupons apply on top of tier prices by default. There is an option to keep coupons off items that already have a tier price, so a bulk discount and a coupon code are not combined.
Can wholesale customers have their own tiers?
Yes. Store-wide rules can be limited to customer roles, including guests, so a wholesale role gets its own price breaks. The plugin also stacks with Wholesale and Role-Based Pricing for WooCommerce, applying quantity discounts on top of the role price.
Does the cart show the discount before checkout?
Yes. Cart and checkout show the regular price struck through, the tier price, and how many more items reach the next break, on the block cart and checkout and the classic pages.
Does it change the prices in my catalogue?
No. Product prices stay as they are; tier prices are applied in the cart, so feeds and reports keep your normal prices.
