Choosing a shipping plugin for WooCommerce

Shipping is where WooCommerce's built-in options run out first. Flat rate and free shipping cover a simple store, but as soon as rates depend on weight, destination, product class or how much is in the cart, you need rules, and you need them to work on the block checkout as well as the classic one.

Start with Table Rate Shipping if your carrier gives you a rate card: it turns that card into rows by weight, price, item count and shipping class, and lets you test a cart before saving. Add Conditional Payments and Shipping when some methods should only appear for certain customers, countries, dates or cart contents. Order Delivery Date lets customers choose a day and time slot at checkout, with cut-offs and capacity limits. The Free Shipping Progress Bar lifts average order value by showing how much more to add.

All four work with the block cart and checkout, the classic shortcode pages and high-performance order storage, and they can be combined: table rates for the cost, conditions for when a method shows, delivery dates for when it arrives.

Common questions

Which plugin replaces a carrier rate card?

Table Rate Shipping. Enter the card as rows by weight, price or item count, per order, per shipping class or per item, and the checkout charges the matching row.

Can I hide a shipping method for some customers or products?

Yes, with Conditional Payments and Shipping. Rules can look at cart totals, weight, items, categories, customer roles, countries, postcodes, dates and more, and hide or show any method or payment gateway.

Do these plugins work with the block checkout?

Yes. Every shipping plugin here is tested on the block cart and checkout and on the classic pages, and offers its rates through the Store API.
