Plugin Wizards

Privacy policy

What we know about you, and why

The short version: no cookies, no trackers, nothing from your store's orders or customers. We keep what is needed to sell you a licence and answer your email, and this page lists all of it.

1.Who is responsible

Plugin Wizards is run by App Wizards, a software company in India. App Wizards is the data controller for the personal data described here. Questions, requests and complaints go to support@pluginwizards.com, and a person answers them.

This policy covers the website at pluginwizards.com and the plugins we sell. It does not cover your own store, which you run and which has its own privacy policy for your customers.

2.Visiting the site

The site sets no cookies and runs no analytics, advertising or social media trackers. There is nothing to consent to and no banner, because nothing is collected in your browser.

The site is served by a hosting provider whose servers keep standard access logs: your IP address, browser type, the pages requested and the time. We use those logs only to keep the site up and to investigate abuse, and they are deleted automatically within 30 days.

Fonts are served from our own site, not from a font network, so no third party learns that you visited.

3.Emailing us

When you write to us we keep your email address, your name if you give it, what you wrote and any attachments, so that we can answer and so that the next person who helps you can see the history. Support conversations are kept for up to three years after the last message and then deleted.

If you send us access to a store so we can look at a problem, we use it only for that problem, do not copy data out of the store, and ask you to remove the access as soon as we are done.

4.Buying a licence

When you buy a licence we collect what is needed to sell it and to keep the records tax law requires: your name, email address, billing country and address, a VAT or GST number if you give one, what you bought, what you paid and the licence keys issued to you.

Card and PayPal details are entered on the payment provider's own pages and go straight to them. We never see or store your full card number; we receive a confirmation of payment and the last four digits for your receipt.

Purchase records are kept for as long as tax and accounting law requires, which is several years after the purchase. Your account and licence records are kept while you hold a licence and for one year after the last one ends, so you can renew without starting over.

5.What a plugin sends us

A plugin with a licence key contacts pluginwizards.com for exactly two things: to activate or deactivate the key, and to check whether a newer version is available. That request carries the licence key, the site's URL, the plugin's version and the WordPress, WooCommerce and PHP versions it is running on. We keep the activation record so we know which sites a licence covers and which versions are in use.

No plugin sends us anything about your orders, customers, products, prices or settings, ever. There is no usage tracking inside the plugins and no opt-in that would turn it on.

Some plugins send data to services that you choose and configure in their settings, such as a Slack channel, a Google Sheet or a shipping carrier. That data goes from your store to that service under your account with it and never passes through us.

6.Who else sees your data

We do not sell personal data and do not share it with advertisers. The providers that process it on our behalf, under contracts that limit what they may do with it, are:

  • Our hosting provider, which serves the site and keeps the access logs described above
  • Our payment provider, which takes your payment and keeps the card details
  • Our email provider, which delivers receipts, licence emails and support replies

We may also disclose data where the law requires it, for example to tax authorities or in response to a valid legal order.

7.Where data is stored

App Wizards is in India, and the providers above run servers in the United States and the European Union. Where data about people in the EU, UK or Switzerland leaves those areas it is protected by the provider's standard contractual clauses or an equivalent recognised safeguard.

8.Your rights

Wherever you are, you can ask us what we hold about you, have it corrected or deleted, receive a copy in a portable form, or object to a use of it. Email the request and we answer within 30 days; we may ask you to confirm the email address the data is linked to first.

Some records cannot be deleted on request because the law requires us to keep them, such as invoices. We will tell you if that applies and delete everything else.

If you are in the EU or UK you also have the right to complain to your data protection authority. We would rather hear from you first and put it right.

9.Marketing email

We send email about your purchases and licences, for example receipts, renewal reminders and security releases for a plugin you own. We send announcements about new plugins only if you asked for them, and every such email has an unsubscribe link that works immediately.

10.Children

The site and the plugins are for people running businesses and are not directed at anyone under 16. We do not knowingly collect data from children.

11.Changes to this policy

When this policy changes, the new version is published here with the date updated at the top. If a change affects what we do with data we already hold, licence holders are emailed about it before it takes effect.
