What Checkout Order Bumps does
An order bump is the box at the checkout that says "Yes, add the matching sticker for $1.20". The customer ticks it, the product lands in the cart at the offer price, the totals update, and the order goes through as usual. Nothing else to click, no extra page. Checkout Order Bumps adds that box to the WooCommerce cart and checkout, block and classic, with the rules that decide which offer which customer sees.
Checkout Order Bumps features
Offers
- Any simple product or single variation, one or more units per tick
- A percentage off, an amount off, a fixed offer price, or the regular price
- The regular price struck through next to the offer and the saving shown, worked out from the product's current price (sale prices included) every time the cart is calculated
- Title, description, product image and the tick-box text with placeholders for the product, the price and the saving
- The bump line keeps its quantity; customers remove it by unticking the box or from the cart
Rules
- Show a bump only when the cart holds chosen products or categories, or never alongside others
- Subtotal between two amounts, customer roles (including guests), start and end dates
- Hide an offer when the customer already has the product in the cart
- How many bumps show at once, in your order; ticked bumps always stay visible
- A bump is taken out of the cart again if the cart stops qualifying, so a discount cannot be kept by removing the product it depended on
- Enable, disable, duplicate and reorder without deleting
Everywhere a customer orders
- The block cart and the block checkout, through WooCommerce's own Store API, with totals that update at once
- The classic cart and the classic checkout, with a choice of position at the checkout
- The bump is recorded on the order line (visible to you, hidden machine data for integrations) and counted: WooCommerce > Order Bumps shows orders and revenue per bump
What the customer sees
An order bump is one box, placed where the customer is already deciding to pay: a tick box that reads "Yes, add the matching sticker for $1.20", the product image, a line of text and the regular price struck through next to the offer. One tick puts the product in the cart at the offer price and the totals update; the order goes through as usual. There is no extra page and nothing else to choose, because a bump is always a simple product or one exact variation.
The rules decide which offer which customer sees. A few bumps stores set up in the first hour:
| Offer | Price | Shown when |
|---|---|---|
| Matching sticker | 20% off | Every cart |
| Protective case | $5 off | Cart has a phone from the Phones category |
| Gift box | Fixed $3.99 | Subtotal over $50, checkout only |
| Second pair of socks | Regular price | Cart has socks, customer is a guest |
| Extended warranty product | Fixed $29 | Cart has products over $200, not already in the cart |
| Launch-week add-on | 50% off | Between two dates |
You choose how many bumps show at once and in what order; a bump the customer has ticked always stays visible so it can be unticked. If the cart changes and no longer qualifies, the bump line is removed automatically, so a discount cannot be kept by taking out the product it depended on.
A product line, not a fee line: how it differs from checkout add-ons
Gift Wrap and Checkout Add-Ons records an extra as a fee on the order: right for gift wrapping, rush handling or a tip, where there is no product to ship. Checkout Order Bumps adds a real product to the cart instead, at an offer price, so stock is reduced, the item appears on the packing slip and in sales reports, and the regular price is shown struck through on the cart line. Use both when you need both: a bump for the product, an add-on for the service.
The bump lives on the block cart and checkout through WooCommerce's own Store API and on the classic pages through a small AJAX call, with the same tick box in both. On the order, each bump line carries a visible "Checkout offer" note and the ids an integration can read, and WooCommerce > Order Bumps shows orders and revenue per bump so you can see which offers convert.

Questions about Checkout Order Bumps
Where does the offer appear?
In the order summary of the block cart and block checkout. On the classic checkout above the payment methods, above the Place order button, after the order notes or above the order summary, as you choose in Settings; on the classic cart above the totals. The cart page can be switched off.
Does the customer have to choose a size or colour?
No. A bump offers a simple product or one specific variation, so a tick is all it takes. Pick the exact variation when you create the bump; variable, grouped and external products cannot be bumps.
What happens to the price?
The product goes in the cart at the offer price, with the regular price struck through on the cart line. The offer is recalculated from the product's current price on every cart calculation, so a sale price, role price or tiered price is honoured and the saving stays correct.
Can the customer change the quantity of a bump?
No. The quantity is fixed to what you set. They can untick the offer or remove the line from the cart.
What if the cart changes after the bump was added?
The conditions are checked again. If the cart no longer qualifies, say the required product was removed or the subtotal fell under the minimum, the bump line is removed automatically and the offer disappears or comes back as a tick box.
Does it work with the block checkout?
Yes. The block cart and checkout get the offers through the Store API, and the classic shortcode pages get them server-rendered with the same live totals.
Does it support High-Performance Order Storage?
Yes.
Can I see how well a bump converts?
WooCommerce > Order Bumps lists orders and revenue per bump, counted from the bump lines of placed orders. Reset them whenever you like.
Do I need a licence key?
The key from your purchase email is what delivers updates and support to this site. Enter it on the screen shown after activation, or later through Activate License on the Plugins screen. The plugin's features work either way.
